James Vance "JV" Sutfin, age 60, of Middletown, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was born in Robinson, Illinois on September 21, 1964 to the late William and Carolyn Sutfin (Renchen).
JV was a "Gentle Giant" and loved family. As a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, JV took on an important role when he married into an existing family and adopted the children as his own. JV was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 157 out of Terre Haute, IN. He was also a member of Dayton Masonic Lodge #103 in Dayton, Indiana, and served as a Past Master from 1992 - 1993. In his spare time he loved hunting, and fishing and was known to have the world's heaviest tackle box. He also loved to play cards, including Blackjack and Texas Hold 'Em. On Sundays, he loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Steel Curtain.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and fiance, Bobbie Jo Shanks.
JV is survived by his daughters, Beth Sutfin, Barbie (Kent) Irific, Nickie Sutfin, and Mary Seebach; sons, Billy (Amanda) Garretson, and Trey Seebach; grandchildren, Chris, Jenna, Zach, Johnny, Lilli, Nick, Lincoln, Gabe, Gorja, Wyatt, Gabbi, Catt, Halo, Hailey, Aedan, Maya, John, Octavia, and Bexlee; great grandchild, Roman; sister Debbie (Rick) Loveless; brother, Rob (Amy) Sutfin; as well as many extended family and friends.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Woodhill Cemetery.
