James Edward Nurrenbrock, age 89, of Springboro, Ohio and formerly of Dayton and Kettering passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Vienna Springs. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 19, 1934, the son of the late Clarence and Regina (Staughler) Nurrenbrock. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Rita Kussman, a brother, Pat Nurrenbrock and his "beloved granddog" Roscoe.
James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen (Weisman) Nurrenbrock; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Charles Richardson; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Kara Nurrenbrock; four grandchildren, Charles "Billy" Richardson, Jr., Joseph "Joey" Richardson, Emily Nurrenbrock and Benjamin "Ben" Nurrenbrock.
He was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio and a veteran of the U.S.Army. James was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Springboro and a former parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church and Emmanuel Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #500. James was a letter carrier for 32 years with the USPS, a blood donor for many years and a lover of animals.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff and neighbors at Vienna Woods for their love and care of James "Trouble".
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9579 Yankee Road, Springboro with Father Martin Fox presiding. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass on Tuesday.
