Hackney, James R., age 81, of Franklin, passed away Thursday morning. He was born in Middletown, March 18, 1929, the son of Raymond and Dorothy Hackney. He worked for over 25 years as a Draftsman for Weatherby and Associates. Mr. Hackney was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict, serving in Japan. His wife, Barbara, preceded him in death in 1986. Survivors include his two sons, James A. Sherry Hackney of Franklin, and Gary Hackney Tony Jenkins of Portland, Oregon; 3 grandchildren, Becky Hackney, Michael Hackney and Andrew Hackney; and 2 brothers, Thomas G. Hackney of Prescott, AZ, and Peter Hackney of Phoenix, AZ. Friends may call from 12:30 until 2:00 PM Saturday, July 24, at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Funeral services will then be held at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
