
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Hampton is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet (Carr) Ball; his daughter, Karen Sue Ball; three nieces, Jeannie Scholl, Linda Byrne, and Nancy Rawlins; and nephew, Tom Ridenour.
Hampton served 4 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electrician on two tours of duty, one in the Philippines and one in Japan. Following this, he completed his education and taught in the Middletown (OH) City Schools. Beginning in 1963, Hampton worked as a teacher and, for many years, as a guidance counselor in the Dayton Public Schools. He retired after 37 years.
He was very active in his church as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, board member, and youth leader. In retirement, he volunteered as a chaplain at Miami Valley Hospital in the kidney dialysis unit, and later at the Used Book Depository at Montgomery Community Church.
Memorial Services will be held, Thursday, October, 27th at 11 am at Otterbein Methodist Chapel, 585 North State Route 741, Lebanon, Ohio. Visitation will be 10 am-11 am prior to the service. Please visit www.breitenbach-anderson.com to send an online condolence.
