Geneieve "Peggy" Lucille Murphy

Geneieve "Peggy" Lucille Murphy, age 89, of Carlisle, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky on March 13, 1936, the daughter of the late Johnny and Pansy Mae (Carlton) Nicely. She was also preceded in death by her son Juan Douglas Keith, a brother, James Nicely and a sister, Wanda Sowder.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Judy Diane Smith and husband, Leon Smith; her son, Jeffrey Don Keith; a sister, Christine Renner; a brother-in-law, Dennie Sowder; grandson, Ron Lehman; 2 step-grandchildren, Michelle Vester and Jarryd Smith. She is also survived by lots of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She attended First Church of Jesus Christ , where she taught Sunday School in Ohio and Mt. Vernon, Kentucky. Peggy was employed by Security Bag for 12 years, North Bethesda Hospital for 8 years, General Motors for 14 years and Avon for 7 years.

Peggy had many hobbies. Among them were reading her Bible, crocheting, crossword puzzles, working among her flowers and horse back riding.

Peggy was a very outgoing woman with a positive personality that everyone loved. A beautiful lady inside and out. She will be truly missed, but now in our loving Lord's arms.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Anderson Funeral Home-Franklin Chapel, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin, Ohio with Pastors Dennie Sowder and Keith Staton officiating. Interment will follow in Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
