Deborah Rae Gibbs, age 63, was born on September 30, 1955 in Kettering, Ohio. She lived in Middletown, Ohio and passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at her residence from an accidental fall. She was a graduate of Fairmont West High School in Kettering and graduated from Southwestern College of Business in Dayton, Ohio with an Associate’s degree. She loved the water and grew up on Lake Erie with a pole in her hand. She loved animals, especially dogs, and had a 3 year old dog child “Chopper”. According to Deborah, “most of my friends have four legs”. She enjoyed telling stories, writing stories mostly fiction, taking pictures, especially when you least expected it and spending time with her family. She always believed in “Family First”, and “would fight to the death for whom and what I believed in”.
Deborah is survived by her fiancé of 12 years, William Gibson; sisters, Kelly Christina Longmire, Karen Sue Lamb; brother, Mike Smith (Cindy); sons, Bobby R. Gibbs (Starshine), Jimmy Gibbs (Caroline), Micah Gibbs (Greg), Mickey Chain (Ashley), Eric Bailey and Dock C. Gibbs; her father, James Delbert Smith; grandchildren, Marissa Gibbs, Jason Gibbs, Maggi Welk, Emerie Burton, Samantha Burton, Bella Chain, Bentley Chain, Braxton Chain; a great granddaughter, Maeleigh Gibbs; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jacquelyn Ione Smith; and a sister, Mary “Punk” Baker.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend John Moore officiating. Deborah was very devoted to her family and friends and will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation at the funeral home directly for Deborah’s funeral expenses.
Deborah would say, “I live by the grace of God”.
