Dean Q Shupert passed through Heaven’s gates Monday, February 5th, 2024 to be with the love of his life, Marjorie (Amsler) Shupert, married for 61 years before her passing in 2021. He was born September 12th, 1931 at his home in Franklin, Ohio to the late Charles Lewis and Eva Lynnette (Dean) Shupert.
He is survived by, as he would say, “his 3 wonderful daughters”, Lori (Tom) Kilbane, Vicki (Joel) Schapp, and Karen Shupert; grandchildren Erica (Matt) Kirby, Collin Kilbane and his bride to be Amanda Bowman and her daughter Chloe, Brianna Kilbane, Brian Schapp, Mariah Kruse; great-grandkids, Shaunna and Hannah Kirby; brother, Jim Shupert, and sister, Susan Bieller.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Florence.
Dean saw Marjorie working at the bank and it was love at first sight. They married October 17, 1959. He served his country faithfully in the Air Force rank as SSGT from 1951-1955 as an electrical aircraft instructor. He was decorated with a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Then he worked as an electrical lineman with CG&E (now Duke Energy) for 37 years.
He loved the Lord and was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Franklin, Ohio, where he helped to maintain the building and grounds, and ushered faithfully for many many years. Family, friends, his church and the country were so important to him. He would do anything for anyone. Dean was a master at fixing things and could climb poles and trees like a monkey. With a twinkle in his eyes, he had quite a sense of humor and would love to tease or play jokes on people, especially his cousin, Phil Shupert, and was affectionately known as “Trouble” wherever he went.
Family and friends may call on Monday, February 12th, 2024 from 10:30-12:00 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 500 E 2nd Street, Franklin, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 12:00. Rev Mueller will be officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Lunch provided after the burial at the Anderson Life Celebration Center, 360 Commerce Center Drive, Franklin, OH 45005, behind Anderson Funeral Home.
