Spradling, Danny Lee, 80, of Middletown OH, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the Atrium Medical Center. He is now home with the Lord. Danny was born October 30, 1930 in Berry, Kentucky, to Samuel and Lillie Centers Spradling. He moved to Middletown in 1946, and was a Middletown High graduate, where he played football. He served two years in the Army during the Korean War, and married Eileen Corwin on April 15, 1952. He retired from General Motors in 1993, after 28 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church since 1970, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, and in various other church capacities. He was a member of the Jolly Sixties, and was a lay preacher who spoke at many churches, and regularly at the Cincinnati and Dayton missions. He served numerous years on the Middletown Christian School Board; and enjoyed woodworking, wildlife painting, hunting, and traveling. Survivors include his wife Eileen; two sons, Mark Loretta Spradling of Franklin, Ohio, and Brent Julia Spradling of Edgewater, Maryland; six grandchildren, Conna, Krista, Tori, Jenna and Alexis Spradling, and Tara Smith; two greatgrandchildren, Nichelle and Doug Smith; and a sister, Joyce Schubert of Middletown, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and by eight siblings, Samuel, Oscar and Carl Spradling, Leona Kendall, Mildred Ecklar, Ruth Barble, Nadean Blount, and Betty Hardy. Visitation will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Monday, January 10, from 5 to 8 PM. Service will be Tuesday, January 11 at 11:00 AM at the church, officiated by Dr. Roger Green. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are handled by Breitenbach, McCoy and Leffler. Memorial contributions may be made to Middletown Christian Schools. He loved his Lord, his family, and his church.
