“Chuck” Born May 30, 1940 in Hazard, Kentucky went to his eternal home on Saturday, October 9, 2021. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years Wanda (Riley)Thompson, children Dawn Micomonaco and Charles David Thompson, his sister Deborah (Mick) Hyde and two grandchildren in which his world revolved, Saige (Samantha) Micomonaco and Gabrielle Sophia Micomonaco. Family and friends were bountiful for Chuck and he leaves many nieces and nephews along with his dear friend Darrell. He is preceded in death by his mother Donna (Parsons-Thompson) Oaks, his father Charles Thompson and his life-long best friends Luther Gene Bailey and Harold Dean Baker.
Chuck ”Poppy” Thompson graduated from Carlisle High School in 1959, served in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army, met the love of his life Wanda and married in 1966. He spent many years restoring admirable antique cars for all to enjoy, traveled often with family and friends, served as an interim Franklin township trustee, was a life-long member of Riverview Baptist Church and served as a church trustee for many years and retired from Armco Steel company in 1994. After retirement Chuck continued to be involved in his hometown of Carlisle always volunteering and helping continue the success of Carlisle Historical Society.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Anderson funeral home Franklin, Ohio. Visitation hours will be 4 to 6 PM with a service to follow.
