Billy Joe (Bill) Turner went home to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, December 6, 2020. He was born August 1, 1956, to Greenberry and Minnie Turner. He is survived by his wife of more than 46 years, Carolyn Gail Campbell Turner; one son, Ken (Kathy) Turner; grandsons Brenden and Nathan Turner. Also surviving Bill are his mother, Minnie Turner; brother, Barry (Betty) Turner; two nieces, Shawn (Jim) Turner McAtee and Schuyler Alvey; nephew, Victor (Sandy) Turner. He is preceded in death by his father, Greenberry Turner, and his sister, Vicki Turner Alvey Sportelli.
In earlier years, Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great interest in painting and restoring cars, photography, and woodworking. However, his most memorable gift was playing the bass guitar. He blessed family and friends alike with his beautiful music both in church and at family reunions. Bill was a devout Christian, attending Christian Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. He worked and earned a 30-year retirement from GM Truck and Bus. He was also a long-time member of Eastern Star Lodge #55 F. & A.M. Bill will be sorely missed by all who knew him, but we will take comfort in the testimony he left behind that someday soon we will be reunited for eternity.
Visitation will be 10am-12pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin, Ohio. Masonic services will begin at noon, immediately followed by funeral services officiated by Pastor Bobby Reed. Burial will take place at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties.
Due to COVID-19, all in attendance must wear facial coverings.
