Betty Jo Vinson

Betty Jo Vinson, age 78, of Franklin, OH; joined her family in Heaven on June 27, 2023. She was born in Lebanon, OH on July 12, 1944, to the late Howard Joseph and Nova Audell (Spradlin) Dorsey. Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Creed, Rosetta Baysore, and Hazel Lewis; her brother, Jimmy Dorsey; and her daughter, Christina Moore. She is survived by two sisters, Doris Johnson, and Joyce Bryant; four sons, Kevin (Loraine) Vinson, Keith (Wendi) Vinson, Chad (Jennifer Douglas) Vinson, and Jonathan Vinson; six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who loved her.

Betty was a tough, hard-working, strong-willed woman who worked hard to provide for her five children. She received her GED in 1983, shortly after she received her machinists license and began a career at Tomak Precision in Lebanon, Ohio. After many years, the chemicals used prevented her from continuing employment at Tomak and she started a new career at Meijer, where she retired from after more than 14 years.

Her family will cherish fond memories of Betty’s tuna boats, Jell-O cakes, home-made pizza, cookouts, birthday parties, nights at the Bingo Hall, and so many more. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5:00pm until time of service at 6:30pm at the Monroe First Church of God in Monroe, Ohio with Pastor Terry Ball officiating. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, Ohio.
