She was born January 21, 1937 in Germany, the daughter of the late Heinrich and Annemarie Schramm.
Ruth immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1955. She married William Herricht, Jr. on September 8, 1956 in Franklin, where together they raised a loving family.
Ruth retired from SUNY Oneonta. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #465 and held the office of Senior Regent for several years.
She cherished the memories of her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. People will remember how much Ruth enjoyed gardening, as she was often seen pulling weeds from her many flower beds.
Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Ingrid (Jesse) Ulmer of Indiana, Margaret (Peter F.) Zuk of Franklin and Anna (Neil) Fuller of Oneida; eight grandchildren, Christina (Daniel) Meece, Jared (Leah) Ulmer, Rebekah (Matthew) Einselen, Jolene (Caleb) Smith, Theresa (Cale) Baier, Peter F. Zuk, IV, Benjamin Fuller, and Alyssa Fuller; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Uwe Schramm of Germany; as well as two nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Herricht, Jr. on August 19, 2008.
Services will be private. Ruth’s family has asked that memorial donations be made to Helio’s Care, Inc., 297 River Street Service Road, Oneonta, New York 13820.
Arrangements are by the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin.
