She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and wife.
Peggy was born the eldest daughter of Willmott and Helen (Rhinebeck) Houck in Walton's maternity hospital on September 16, 1946. She graduated from Franklin Central School with the class of 1964. She married her love Frank French on January 4, 1965.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Over the years, she enjoyed cooking, puzzles ,church ,reading, and being with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Hotaling and son in law, Al Hotaling of Franklin, NY; her grandchildren, Chase Hotaling of Binghamton, NY, and Dana Hotaling of Franklin, NY.
She is also survived by her sister, Anna Davis (Henry) of Blanchester, OH; her brother, David Houck of Wilmington, OH; sister in law, Donna Houck, of Monroe Michigan; and brother and sister in law, Chester and Donna French; and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband Frank in July of 1980. She was also predeceased by a baby sister, Cathy; as well as her mom and dad; and many aunts and uncles; most recently her brother Everett Houck on January 10, 2024.
As per Peggy's wishes, a graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11 am at the Union Church Cemetery, East Sidney, NY. A reception will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 107 Balmoral Dr, West Oneonta, NY 13861
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Helios Care, 297 River Street Service Rd, Oneonta, NY 13820. They helped so much in the last 4 months.
