He was born to Kenneth L. and Mildred A. (Himmelman) Chipman, and lived in Framingham his entire life. He worked 35 years for the Town of Framingham, and retired as a Superintendent in the Public Works Department.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Doris A. (Simpson) Chipman; his daughter, Debora Chipman Quinn of Framingham; his son, Kenneth Chipman of Phillipston, MA; his sister, Elizabeth Chipman of Framingham; and many other cherished family members in Massachusetts, Indiana, and North Carolina.
He enjoyed his membership in the Holliston Sportsmen’s Club, and was proud to have served his country in the Massachusetts National Guard.
He will be remembered as a gentle man whose greatest joy was to see others happy. Whether it was a simple, random act of kindness or a generous gift to someone in need, Ralph’s legacy of kindness and service to others will be always remembered by his family and friends.
His family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Wadsworth – Chiappini Funeral Home, 318 Union Avenue, Framingham. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
