Wambolt, Gerald W. 72, surrounded by his family, passed on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at his home in Framingham, MA. Born on April 21, 1944 in Newton, MA, he was the cherished son of the late Richard G. and Seila E. Wambolt of Newton, MA. He was the beloved husband of Bessey M. Wambolt and devoted father of Ann Z. Thomas, Alvin Z. Thomas and Amy Z. Thomas of Framingham, MA. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Alden and Roberta Wambolt as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Ron MacInnis.
Gerry graduated from Newton High School in Mass. He received his B.S from Drew University and his masters in Meteorology from The University of Michigan. Gerry enjoyed immensely playing and coaching tennis in addition to spending quality time with his family. He loved to play hockey, ping-pong and ski. He was an entrepreneur of a well-established tennis club in NY as well as many other business ventures. Gerry was a compassionate, loyal servant of God who loved the many he encountered. Many younger generations of nieces, and nephews were supported, taught, and deeply loved by "Uncle Gerry." He will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will be held at the MetroWest Funeral and Cremation Service, 318 Union Ave., Framingham, Friday, February 17, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 in the evening with a closing prayer. A memorial service will be held at Highrock Covenant Church, 735 Massachusetts Avenue, in Arlington, MA on Saturday, February 18th at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation in Gerry’s honor.
