Phyllis was born August 3rd, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska where she grew up with her 7 siblings Rachel Garcia, Madeline Savala, Raymond Valdez, Alfonso Brambila, Paul Barajas, Gabriel Barajas, and Lydia Lewis.
Phyllis always had a passion for helping others which inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare. Later in life she would work her way through school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was a loving mother to 3 beautiful girls Teri, Miranda, and Carmen. Living in Omaha, Nebraska she found herself single and wanting to return to the dating scene, which is when she would meet her true love, Ken Reznicek. After they both decided to retire, Ken would follow Phyllis to go live in Colorado to be closer to her children and grandkids. Ken and Phyllis would parent many pets together and would often take in stray cats from the neighborhood.
Phyllis also enjoyed many hobbies such as quilting, visiting Sante Fe New Mexico and cooking authentic Mexican dishes which she learned from her mother, but most of all spending quality time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her sister Lydia Lewis; significant other, Kenneth Reznicek; her 3 children Teri Pokorny, Miranda Mort, and Carmen Perez; grandchildren Phyllis Kelley, Ariana Mort, RJ Mort, and Tiana Pokorny; as well as her great grandchildren Keira Kelley, Declan Kelley, Magnus Mort, Sonja Mort, Torben Mort, and Adelita Mort.
