He grew up in Security and graduated from Widefield High School in 1972, and after high school enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After serving in the Navy he graduated from Southern Colorado University and Barber College. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service and was a barber in Manny’s Main Barber Shop, as well as Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver; Fort Carson, and Colorado Springs until his health prevented it. He has lived the since 1995 at Valley View Nursing Home in Canon City. Mike loved the Denver Broncos, giving everyone a hard time, and simply enjoying life in general.
Mike is survived by his son David and wife Shannon; his daughter Pricilla Garcia; his father Manuel Sigala; brothers: Ray, Joe, Mario and John; sisters Rosalie Thompson, and Etta Sigala; brother-in-law Pete Thompson; sister-in-laws Meredith Sigala and Darlene Sigala; Grandchild Rossi Sigala; Nephews Chris, Mark and Stephen Thompson, Diego Sigala and Dominic Sigala; Niece Sommer Sigala.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother Martha; and Brothers Steve and John Joseph Sigala.
Services for Mike will be: Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening Nov 29th and a Rosary recited for Mike at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Wednesday Nov. 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church 5354 S. Hwy 85/87 Security, CO and graveside service will be at Evergreen Cemetery Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will follow the graveside service at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.
Mike was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Manny’s Main Barber Shop greatly appreciates the concerns and understanding of its customer during this difficult time
