Well. 8 years now. Who knows what could’ve happened in life. It’s dragged everyone miles away and all around the world. Mario Andretti said “If you have control of the car, you’re not going fast enough” 
I used to apply the same logic to life. It was only until I remembered that life is meant to be lived. Enjoyed. Loved. There are harsh moments where that becomes grey. But to us, the memory of you will always be our light at those grey times. 
Moments where I look and see people living their lives doesn’t make me angry anymore. I used to be. I used to be so mad. People living while you’re gone, it didn’t make sense to me. But you never left. You’ve always been right where we’ve had you all along. In our hearts. And you’ll never leave that spot in our hearts.  
Death is inevitable, but to leave a legacy that people will remember forever, well that’s we strive for. And you did it. You left a legacy that’ll always be a part of everyone. Miles away and all around the world.

There is truly no words to describe how wonderful Katie was. I still think about her 7 years later and I’ll never forget the moments we shared. I’ve never been more close with anyone in my life. She and I were tighter than a knot. We always understood each other and were there for each other. Even if we knew we did something stupid and had every reason to be upset, we always hugged each other at the end of the day. Every day in the morning, we’d hug for a long period of time, hang out at lunch, and when school ended, we’d hug even longer before we left. This would repeat every day at school from 7th grade to the 10th grade. If I was gone sick, she’d be upset and sad and if she was gone then I’d be sad. There wasn’t a single day we didn’t hang out and talk. We were always goofballs in class and got in trouble together. We were best friends, siblings, mates, and a duo forever. When 10th grade started, I didn’t see her for a long time but after 6 months of not seeing each other, I see her at the same spot we always met near the cafeteria. We both screamed on the top of our lungs scaring everyone around us. We ran to each other and I hug her tightly and spun her around and she hugged me like I’ve been missing for years. Me and her were inseparable. Which was why her passing away so suddenly completely shattered my heart. Never in my life did I ever have such an intense reaction to anything. I had a mental breakdown finding out she was gone. Ever since that day, I’m not the same. 7 years later I still never forget her passing. Her death impacted my life so much. But I’ve grown a lot and I wish everyday she saw the man that I became. She’d be so proud. She’d be so proud of everyone in her life and how much they’ve grown. I miss you every day Katie. And I love you. So so so much….. I will never forget you for as long as I live. I seriously look forward to hugging you again once more. 

It's been 7 years and 2 days since you passed. Your death still hurts me, and I know I'll never be able to completely forget that you're gone. I know I don't have any right still being mad at you for leaving, it isn't your fault and I know that, but I am. We always talked about figuring life out together and now I have to do it without you and it isn't fair. My 16th birthday came around and shortly after that I was older than you ever would be. I hated that day. I knew exactly which one it was and I could barely put in the effort to get myself out of bed. I hated that you weren't there and that I had to keep going. I'm a lot older now, I'm supposed to be good at adult-ing or something. Things are mostly going pretty well too. College is much better than high school, not that anything could be much worse than that. I’m studying psychology. I know, I think it’s an awful cliche too, but I want to help people. I miss you so much. I wish we could chat about everything or nothing. I know things sucked for both of us back then, but when I remember you I always remember you shrieking with laughter one of the times we were hanging out in your room. I don’t remember what we were laughing about, but I really wish I did. I can’t remember your laugh as clearly as I used to be able to, and I’m starting to forget what your eyes looked like. I used to replay your laugh over and over in my head because I was so scared of forgetting. Mostly, I just wish that you were here now. You were too good for your lot in life, and you deserved so much more. You were kind, and silly, and you always made me happy. I didn’t have a lot of happiness back then, but you made going to school worthwhile. History class was my favorite. I was usually quiet but sitting with you in that class brought out the chattiness and I got in trouble a bit for it there. I love you Kat, and I hope there is a life after this one and that I get to see you again someday when my time comes.

I remember back in the day when you used to live right behind me and we would talk over our back fence every single day. I miss your hugs and the way you say hello. I miss your smile when i see you walk down the hall. I miss my best friend every day and I am lost in the world without her. she made me smile and laugh and for a long time she was the only one who could. She is a star in the night sky and she always will be. Katie, I love you. I miss you more than anything. Ill see you soon old friend. I miss you best friend.

I was friends with terry in elementary school. I remember seeing Katie everyday and she was such a bright and wonderful little girl, I always wondered how she was doing all of these years later. You'll all be in my prayers.
