

Kathleen C. Flynn, also affectionately known as Miss Kathi or Yaya, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024 in Colorado Springs. She was born in Keene, NH on March 19, 1940, to George and Constance (Spyropolous) Vangos. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Christopher Vangos, and her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Flynn.
She spent most of her life in Lowell, MA and was a graduate of Lowell High School and Lowell Secretarial College. She was the Refugee Resettlement Coordinator at the International Institute of Lowell for many years. She was instrumental in assisting refugees from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos in establishing a thriving community in Lowell. She moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1998 to be close to family. She retired from Progressive Insurance after having worked there for many years.
She was an avid and accomplished crafter and seamstress. Her friends and family were the recipients of many lovingly handcrafted items.
She leaves behind her daughter, Linda Cloutier and her son-in-law, Dennis Cloutier, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a granddaughter, Caitlin Cloutier of Pueblo, Colorado, and a son, Edward Flynn.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services, however there will be an informal Celebration of Life in Lowell, MA at a later date.
