Julio was born on October 1, 1942 to Agustin Geigel and Alejandrina Hernandez in Puerto Rico. After his parents passed away, he was raised in New York City by family members. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1960.
After serving 20 years in the Army, Julio retired. Julio attended college before returning to work as a civil servant for 6 years. Julio ended his career as a carrier for the United States Postal Service in 2009, having served the Post Office for 15 years.
Julio is preceded in death by his parents, Agustin Geigel and Alejandrina Hernandez, his brothers and sisters, Efrain Geigel , Miguel Geigel, Hector Geigel, Agustin Geigel, and Carmen Geigel. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Anna, his children, Hyun-Joo, Sanford, Gloria, Julio, Christine and Shawn, his sisters, Iraida Geigel, Luz Maria Geigel, and Iris Brown- Ravenell, as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A full mass service will be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church on January 5th, 2023 at 11am. The viewing will be prior to mass, starting at 10:00. National honors and burial will follow at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
