A mass of Christian burial for Josephine (Josie) J. Gonzales will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, CO. A Rosary service will be held prior to mass starting at 10:20 AM. Interment will take place at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO. The family invites all to a reception following the mass and before the interment at the church reception hall.
Josie was blessed to be born on a Christmas day December 25th, 1942 to Juan and Eloise (Jaramillo) Almaraz in Kingsville, TX, and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 10th, 2022 in Colorado Springs, CO. at the age of 79.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Juan and Eloise (Jaramillo) Almaraz, and her siblings Teresa (Almaraz) Camblanca, Eloise (Almaraz) Vizzerra, Juan Almaraz Jr., Guadalupe Almaraz and Ventura Almaraz.
Josie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Felix Gonzales, her children Ramon Soto of Phoenix, AZ, Danny (Sue) Gonzales of Woodland Park, CO, Amy (Gilbert) Jaime of Colorado Springs, CO and Rick (Kristy) Gonzales of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Raymond, William, Joline, Vanessa, Daniel, Steven, Rachel, Trevor, Adam, Joshua, Amy Renee, Josh Z., Jordan and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Adelaide, Adyn, Josiah, Aubrey, Noah J., Kaileen, Jackson, Titan, Trenton, Treyton, Jiraiya, Alexis, Alaina and Noah Z. She is also survived by her siblings, Aurelia (Frank) Flores, Anita Almaraz, Maria (Thomas) Morales, Humberto Almaraz and Isabell (Ray) Perez all from AZ. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.
Josie’s kindness and generosity that she had for not only her family, but to those that were less fortunate than her especially children, will be dearly missed. She was an angel in the flesh and will continue to be an angel among us.
