I‘ll never forget his cowboy hat. If he was wearing it, it was going to be ok. If he wasn’t, there was gonna be trouble. RIP 1SG. 

My  dad, how I'm going to miss you when you call and called me your Dau, or kiddo sometimes. I know that even when we were miles apart we kept in touch as much as we could. You would tell me about the deers that you hunted with and the fish that you caught.  I remember seeing the video of you roller blading when you were in your 60's, it was funny to watch.  Most of all I remember when you were able to see me and Jackie in Ohio when you could because we were just little girls.

You lived a long life dad, and you never wavered over anything, proud of that., you helped me when my Jason was in Iraq and I was at my wits end and crying not knowing what to do, but you told me to basically Suck It Up, your his mother, your tough and you will pray and have my son's back that got me through it, you made me tough and to be a Military Mom and I did. I'm proud of your service to our country dad,and being a Veteran's daughter and I'm thankful that you came home safe. I'll miss your Christmas Gift of the Swiss Colony Farm food that you sent to us for Christmas, always loved it., but God called you home to Heaven and you are with all your loved ones, happy and healthy.

I love you sooo much dad and I will miss you. Keep watch over us dad. Until Valhalla when we meet again. I will never say goodbye.
I have one old photo of you and me dad when you came to AZ to visit me. You sort of had your hippy look, lol.




I remember talking to Grandpa Q a few times about the old school Army days and his time in and when he was in Vietnam. Such amazing stories we shared about our military experiences. We got to talk through Skype before as well. Just knowing the type of man he was and how he was always there for his family until the end, the courage he had fighting in that war and making it back makes me so proud to call him my grandpa! Your watch maybe over here on earth but I know you’re up there with my other brothers in arms and my Grandpa Welch guarding the gates. Air Assault! UNTIL VALHALLA Grandpa Q! I love you!!

Hi dad, so many memories we missed living in different states, but so many phone calls where we talked about politics, religion, our families and many other things.  When your grand daughters Krystal and Kelly came to visit as little girls, you gave them chocolate Rice Krispie cereal with chocolate syrup and said "Don't tell your mom".   lol, I just found that out, they kept your word and never told me.  You once told me you named me "Jacalyn Therese" and I love that name.  Wish we had more time in person to have visited but know how much I loved you.  You were a hero in every way and proud you served in our military.  I know you are in Heaven with all your loved ones who went before you since you were a believer in Jesus Christ.  I will miss our talks.   I love you "Jaca" 


John was the best man you could ever meet. He was always kind and treated everyone like family. They always welcomed me in they home. I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace in heaven grandpa. One day I will see you.  At the pearly gates. Thank you for letting me meet you.

My memory of John was an active, friendly, supportive friend.  He was my first sergeant and also a good friend. We had just talked about my wife and I visiting him. He will be missed. We shared many memories of the service together.

I will always remember how you gave me candy and sat in the kitchen talking war stories with me. 

 I love you an will miss you thank u for everything you have done! Thank you for your service grandpa I hope to one day see you again. 

He was my Uncel Q. - Loni was my Dad‘s Sister.  We had a great time in CO. It’s way to long ago, that I saw everyone over there. 
Uncel Q was a great guy. I remember him as always active and making fun. Rollerblading and thoose Trolls in his office 😂❤️
He had his heart at the right place. Great guy ! 
We had a great road trip back in the days to TX and I will forever keep those great memories with Uncel Q and my family in the USA.

I don't have any photos, but I have known John and Loni a very long time threw my best friend whom I would never trade anything for. I was always treated like family by both always so kind and loving. I am sorry for your loss he was an amazing person. Now he is in heaven with his beautiful wife shining down and looking over there family.. Thank you for letting me have the privilege of knowing all of you.

My dad, John Quinlivan, passed away at home with his family on Sept16th, 2021. He was preceded in death by our mother, Loni.  They were married almost 60 years. 
My dad served in the military for 20 years and 13 years Civil (Federal) Service.  He was a Veteran having served in Vietnam receiving the Bronze Star while there.  He served in Germany, Korea, Fort Knox KY and retired at Fort Carson Colorado as a 1st Sergeant in 1/77 Armor and 112 Calvary Regiment. (The Black Horse) 

My dad loved fishing and hunting. He was good at all of it.  And,
There wasn't anything he couldn't fix.  If the part he needed wasn't available, he made it, and it worked !
My dad gave to charities.  It wasn't until he passed I realized how many; Wounded warriors, VFW, NRA, Boys Town, Susan G Komen, Red cross,  Paralyzed Vets, Humane Society....These are literally just a few. 
But the best thing about my dad is, he GAVE his TIME to our family.  He was always there us.  Sometimes you had to reach out; I remember sending him an email and I put, "Just venting" on the end.  He replied, "I'm always here for you to vent DJ. "  (That's me DJ --Daughter Jane) There wasn't a time in my life I couldn't go to my dad about 'ANYTHING.'  He was always there.
My son, Andrew, (22) was very Special to dad.  He has Autism but it does not limit him.  Drew would call almost daily, "Do you need help with anything? and are you doing Ok today?" Sometimes dad would just show up, "I need Drew to help with my recycles" and Drew would go. No hesitation.  
My Daughter LJ loved her grandparents. She could calm their quick Irish /German tempers like none of us.  She was the 'get everyone together for BBQ's child.'   He doted on his Great Grandchildren Eden (13) and "Ivey" (4) as 'he called her.'  Perhaps he felt his time here was ending as he filled his living room the last few months with toys for their b days and X-Mas. 
His spirit will be here for all of it.  I love you Dad.     DJ 






I remember days that he would show up and watch me and my brother play football and all sports. He never forgot about his grandkids or anybody's school functions

Our great grandpa, hey it is  me Eden and baby Ivy as you always called her. 
We will miss you so much. Always finding some type of toy or paint to spark a smile on our faces. Always playing catch with baby Evie (Ivy) at grandma Janes house. Cookies! The cookies and candies we will miss coming from you. You used to go to my plays even pick me up from school sometimes. I remember evie cried when you had a beard so you shaved just so she would recognize you ha that was funny. Rest in paradise we love you and will always cherish those memories and moments. Love you forever and ever and ever. 

I’ll  always remember listening to his stories and his little catch phrases and how he could always fix anything. Gpa I’ll  always miss u and i love u. 
Rest easy old friend, give gma a kiss for me.

My Grandfather… Oh how I have memories to share, probably too many to say here. You are an inspiration to many many people you were always wise, but had this distinct smirk on your face when the sarcasm came out, oh how I’ll miss that. 

The giving to others came naturally, you never put yourself first. You always shared, donated, and gave to anyone in need. 

Your love for your family was genuine. I love you and will miss you for eternity.
