February 10, 1956 - August 15, 2012
John Vincent Knudsen, a resident of Colorado Springs, passed away unexpectedly on August
15, 2012. John was born February 10, 1956 in Fort Ord, CA.
Being born into a military family provided John opportunity to move to many different parts of
the country as well as several years in Europe during his youth. These years of traveling, seeing
new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new things continued to influence John
throughout the remainder of his life. John worked construction and as a long distance truck
driver moved around the country often, though Colorado was always home. John was a bit of
a gypsy, never knew a stranger and was extremely resilient.
John will be most remembered for his big heart and gentle soul, his love for his family, and his
ability to persevere through the most difficult of challenges.
John's love for his dogs is legendary. You never saw John without one of his longtime canine
companions Reuben, Rusty or Booger Ray. No matter what hard times John may have
encountered, you knew his canine friends would always have the best of care.
John leaves to cherish his memory his family in Colorado Springs, Parents-Clifford and Claudia
Knudsen, Siblings-Charlotte (Gary) Nolan, Cliff Knudsen, Christine Vigo, Janice (Brian) Mcintyre,
Nephews-Justin and Nicholas Mcintyre, Nieces-Christa (Branden) Puglisi, Taya Knudsen,
Serenity Puglisi.
Family and friends spread all across the country will forever carry fond memories of John or
Johnny as he was known growing up.
Proceeded in death he was greeted into loving arms with warm hugs by his Grandparents Jack, Beryl Parker, Laurence and Marie Knudsen.
A celebration of life will take place at 1:30pm on August 26, 2012 at America Beautiful Park.
