John Edward Aragon Sr.

John Edward Aragon Sr, age 86, of Fountain, Colorado passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. He was born on August 20,1938 in Fountain, Colorado to John B. Aragon and Mary I. Aragon. John dedicated nearly five decades to civil service, leaving an indelible mark on his community.

John was known for his kind-hearted nature, generous spirit, and great sense of humor. John loved the outdoors and found pleasure in fishing, camping, and going to Cripple Creek. Above all, John cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy into his life.

John is survived by his son, John Edward Aragon Jr.; granddaughters, Korina (Matthew) Powell and Danita Martinez; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Felizianna, Illyana, and Carter; stepchildren, Gene (June), Debbie, Janet (Steve), Diana (Russ) and Harold, brother Jesse (Kim) Aragon; and sister, Mary Hodges. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan B. Aragon and Mary I. Aragon, and siblings, Ruben, Leeroy, Andy, Minnie, Rosie, Bennie, Rosie, Julia, Joe and step-son Ronald.

Funeral services will be held at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary in Fountain, Colorado. A viewing is scheduled for October 4, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service and burial at Fairview Cemetery in Fountain, Colorado. A light reception will follow at VFW Post #6461 in Fountain, CO. John's love for laughter, life, and family will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew him.
