Jimmy was born on December 10, 1935, in Oklahoma, the son of Walter and Mamie Glenn Still. The family later moved to Pratt, Kansas where he attended Pratt High School. Jimmy joined the National Guard which began his military career with the United States Army. During his military career, he served in the Vietnam war and was stationed in Korea, Germany and Hawaii. His accomplishments included the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and the Amy Commendation Medal with 3d Oak Leaf Cluster to name a few.
Jimmy proudly served his country for 30 years and after retiring from the Army, he partnered with his buddy, Bill Koehler and they bought and operated Pueblo West Bait and Tackle. A lot of fish stories and lies were shared during this time.
He married Barbara Buerger on October 11, 1958 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage. They had 2 children, Michael and Jo Lynn. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Barbara and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Shirley and his 2 children, Michael and Jo Lynn.
A service is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 10 am at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs.
