

Ingrid Carter, 85, died peacefully in her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 16, 2022. Her caregiver, and granddaughter, Kristi Roybal, along with Ingrid's daughters Debra and Barbara, were with her. She was born in Berlin, Germany, on January 29, 1937, to her parents, Franz Bruno Karl Heinrichsmeyer and Anna Kreusigner Heinrichsmeyer. She lived in Berlin most of her childhood. In May of 1956, she married Paul Gene Carter, a corporal in the United States Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany. In 1963, she became a citizen of the United States of America. Paul retired in 1972 from the army and they purchased a home in Widefield, Colorado, where she has resided for the past 50 years. Ingrid worked in various jobs while living in Colorado, and she was active in the Holy Family and St. Dominic Catholic Churches for 26 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul G. Carter, her parents Franz and Anna Heinrichsmeyer, her twin sister Helga Addiego, and her brother Franz Heinrichsmeyer. Ingrid is survived by her daughters, Monica Tucker of Bay City, Texas, Barbara and her husband Steven Palmer of Bethlehem, New Hampshire, Debra Carter Owens of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her sons, Earl Carter and his wife Karen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Duane Carter and his wife Gaylene of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her niece, Franziska Heinrichsmeyer of Klobenz, Germany; as well as 22 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Ingrid will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary, 6630 S. US HWY 85/87, Fountain, CO 80817. Interment at Pikes Peak National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
