Native Fountain resident, Inez Colorado, 62, passed away May 20 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was employed at Western Forge as a Customer Service Representative.
Inez loved the outdoors, mountains and camping, spending time in her flower garden, music and being with her family and friends. She cherished her grandchildren and beloved dog, Gisele.
Inez was a person with a big heart and would always do for others before she thought of herself. She was always light hearted, happy and will be greatly missed. Inez is survived by her husband, George Lucero; her mother, Frances Colorado; a son, Marc (Jennifer) Abeyta; son-in-law, Brian Peninger; step-daughter, Lorraine Lucero; brother, Bob (Josie) Colorado; niece; nephew; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and God-son.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Colorado, and daughter, Angela Peninger.
Visitation will be Friday, May 25, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, 5354 South Highway 85/87, Security, with a Rosary following.
Memorial service celebrating Inez’ life will be Saturday, May 26, 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s. Interment will be at a later date.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Dr. Matei and Rocky Mountain Cancer Center staff.
