Evelyn, age 64, left this life to be with the Lord on Saturday May 20th, 2017.
She was born on March 25th, 1953 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and grew up in the surrounding area.
After graduating from Widefield High School, Evelyn studied music and education at University of Northern Colorado. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and began her career serving as a teacher in Calhan and Falcon School District for over 20 years. She later retired from full-time education and worked for a number of years as a substitute teacher for Widefield School District and surrounding schools.
She had a passion for music from an early age and became an accomplished flutist and pianist. She carried this passion through life and used it to serve the churches she attended, playing piano, flute, and organ. She loved sharing her music with others, volunteering to play at nursing homes and giving music lessons.
Evelyn was a devout follower of Christ and spent her life seeking God. She was an amazing mother, loyal daughter, loving grandmother, and dedicated friend. Her loving nature, sense of humor, and desire to teach and help, blessed countless people throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her, though they are comforted in knowing she is with God and will always be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Stephen Campbell. She is survived by her parents, Sam and Nina, brother Robert, son Graham, daughter Lynelle, and grandsons Daniel and Joseph.
A Service and Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday June 10th at Widefield Community Bible Church, 702 Quebec St. in Colo. Sprgs. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
