Eugene Colwell Sr.

Eugene (Gene)Colwell was born in Clay County Kentucky to John and Maude Colwell.He passed away peacefully on October 24, 2023 in his home with his family and dog, Daisy at his bedside.He was preceded in death by beloved wife Etelvina. Eugene proudly served 21 years in the US Army to include a tour in Vietnam. Eugene then worked 20 years for the state of Colorado as a Correctional Sargeant. Eugene is survived by his children Jeff Colwell, Lorraine Martinez, Eugene Colwell Jr. , and grandchildren;

Nicolette, Alexis, Bradley, Mitchell, Ben, Tilly, and Audrey. Gene, affectionately known as “Papa”enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren. Gene also enjoyed many meals where he had many friends at the IHOP in Fountain. His service with military honors will be held on November 17th at 11:00 at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery.

A committal service for Eugene will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
