John was born in Seaside, Oregon on January 10, 1939, son of John Lewis and Alice Laura Salladay.
He worked in the Upholstery business for over 20 years before retiring and taking a job as grounds keeper at Colorado College. He was very proud of his worked at Colorado College and retired from there after many years of service.
He was actively involved in many hobbies including Bowling, Fishing, Hunting, Playing cards with his 4 grandchildren and enjoyed making crafts with his hands which he gave away.
The only friends he didn't have were the people he had not met.
John was known for his sense of humor and always had a smile on his face and welcomed you with a firm handshake. He was always someone the family could depend on for help.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years; Phyllis Jane Salladay, Daughter Tammy Carney and Son-in-law Mellus Carney. 4 Grandchildren included Laura Larsen, Brandon Larsen, Anastasia Carney and Baylee Carney. Brother Bill of California and Sister Gail of South Caroline. 2 brother-in-laws Vern/wife Christina of CA and Larry/wife Patty of Colorado, 2 sister-in-laws Shirley/husband Garland, CA and Linda/husband Frankie of CA, Grand fur babies are Oreo and Malley.
Proceeded in death by his Mother and Father, Son Dwayne Salladay and 3 Brothers, Bob, Don, and Lee.
