Hello Betty, my condolences to you and your family, I googled Arts name found this obituary. Seeing the picture I was sure this is the brother my father always spoke about. My fathers name is Adelmo Quintana, unfortunately i lost my Dad Nov 2021 to this current virus affecting all of Jehovahs servants my father always spoke about how honest and considerate he was with others not only in the congregation but towards employees he had employed. I met Art at an assembly years ago in Denver along with Bro. Bradshaw. My mother is still alive and well. I hope this comment finds you and you can read it. I await the new Kingdom Jehovah will bestow upon the earth, and be able to see my father again and Art as well.

   I was thinking about you and Art when I saw his obituary. I'm sorry I just now found out. I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with Art at the Assemblies, and such a fine example of a lover of Jehovah in his life, and such a privilege to all of us having known him. We are so very sorry for your loss.  Art was such a dear, faithful brother, a true spiritual gem.  He was an excellent example of zeal and love for Jehovah worthy of imitation.

We pray that you will find comfort knowing that very soon Jehovah will wake Art up and he will be back with us in perfect health.  We wish we could take the pain away, but there is nothing better than Jehovah's powerful holy spirit to get you through this difficult time.

I did not have much interaction with Bro Johnson, but knew him as a highly respected brother in the entire circuit. He did teach me how we get volunteers in Jehovah's organization  (and how we don't).  I've never forgotten it.  I also love to play cards, so maybe in the new world he can teach me more about that too.  

So sorry for you Betty and your family for your loss.  It's times like this we know what death being an enemy really means.  Love to you all.  I know Jehovah will strengthen you to endure to the end.

We have known Art for many many years.  We remember the love and enthusiasm he had when we shared in building the Athmar Kingdom Hall in 1975.
We fished together at Terryal Reservoir. Sitting at the campfire. Roller skating at Roller City. Wow could he skate. 
What a joy it will be when Jehovah says Art wake up I have more for you to do. 
Our hearts and prayers are with the Johnson family.

I had the privilege of knowing the Johnson family as a child going to the Athmar congregation. Later in life I was reacquainted with them in Fountain. My deepest sympathies go out to the Johnson family. Jehovah is "the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials." 2 Cor. 13,4

We fondly remember Bro. & Sis. Johnson inviting us over for dinner soon after we moved to Fountain congregation in January 2012.  Bro. Johnson was direct and to the point: “...who are you, where are you from, tell us about yourselves, what are your goals, and my wife prepared a delicious meal we will all enjoy.” It was an excellent example of hospitality and a lovely welcome to the congregation . We love you Sis. Johnson & look forward to living forever with you, Bro. Johnson and your family. - torre&phoebe 

Our association with the Johnsons was all too little, while we were part of Fountain Congregation.
However, it was always a delight to see Art and Betty at the meetings.
We're sad and our hearts go out to the entire Johnson family, especially Betty in losing Art.
How grateful we can be that this is really temporary, and we look forward to many more connections with Art.

Dear Betty and family,
Sybille and I will truly miss our dear brother Art. To me he was an elder's elder, a fine teacher, shepherd and good friend. It was always good to see him and Betty when Sybille and I would walk into Safeway, we would see them sitting having a beverage, we would join them and have a wonderful conversation. I will never forget the last time I saw Art; Jim Agner and I visited him when he was not not feeling too well and we enjoyed it so much when he shared with us his many experiences in Jehovah's work. We look forward to seeing him in the new world as a Prince in the earth. We miss and love our dear friend, we will see him soon in the new world! Once we were returning from camping along with the Barrack's  and stopped to eat dinner at a real small restaurant and were blessed to run into Art & Betty as they too were enjoying a meal. The time we spent together with them,  was a time of joy and laughter with both of them. please accept our deepest condolences and love for all of you on times as this!!!

I will never forget the time, in or about 1963, when Art and my father, Dale Fagan, owned separate businesses but were working together. One day Art was going to meet my dad at our house but dad was not there when Art  arrived.   I had a parakeet that my father taught to talk in spiritual terms. The parakeet flew over and landed on Art's shoulder and started to speak into his ear saying "Praise Jehovah, read the Watchtower, read the Awake."  Shocked, Art ask my mother, "What did that bird say? Did he just say praise Jehovah?  Are you Jehovah's Witnesses? So am I!" 
That began many, many years of association between Art and my father, with my father eventually being employed by Art and even I work  for him for a short time after high school. My family always held Art and his family  in high esteem.
I was always impressed with the fact that he always thought before he spoke. At 70 years old that's a lesson I hope to learn someday.
Today, I am overjoyed knowing that my late father and our brother, Art Johnson,  both conquered and have only closed their eyes to sleep for a brief moment to prepare for life eternal!  Praise be to the Sovereign Lord Jehovah!

Art was my Presiding  Overseer when I  started learning the truth in 1987.  He was so encouraging throughout many events in my life while in Athmar Congregation.  So kind and loving.  He is missed.  I look forward to seeing him again in paradise.

A very large book could be written to describe Art's Bible based demeanor and qualities. Art was an outstanding servant of Jehovah.  His study habits were visible through  his Bible trained shepherding, teaching, training, sharing and caring.   If a volunteer was needed, Art was there to fulfill the need if it was possible. On a personal level,  fishing and camping, on shore or on the lake was always an exquisite delight.  Adding to that, was great association, camp fires, loud laughter, card games, great FOOD, and deep Bible discussions.  And we shared ENJOYMENT FROM JEHOVAH'S CREATION day or night, along with all the fresh air and aroma of pine tree's and breezes in the ROCKY MOUNTAINS where we could not smell or hear city life.   The memories will last forever!

It's crazy how life can take family members in opposite directions, but I have such fond memories of my grandpa as a child.
I remember a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.  I remember there's always room for icecream.   I remember wisker burns. I remember the kindest grin and soft chuckles. I remember warm hugs. I remember the way he would look at my grandma and the multiple pecks they'd give each other when saying hello or goodbye.   I remember the raised eyebrows when he'd say something he wanted you to think about.  I remember gentle strength. I remember teaching us about comma placement. "She's got freckles on her but, I love her.   She's got freckles on her, but I love her." 😂  I remember his love for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, card games, family camping trips, fishing on his little boat,  being one of my favorite people as a child, and so much more. 

One of my favorite memories is sitting in the upper seats at the conventions and seeing Art and Betty walking and holding hands. They looked like they had just married. Art was a dear, trusted friend and counselor. He will be missed. 

I had the pleasure of working along side Art on the District Convention committee for a few years which was indeed a pleasure. He was such a loving and humble brother who without a doubt truly loved Jehovah. My prayers are with his family and the congregation.

Me and my Family will Always be Thankful to our Brother Art Johnson  for Helping us to come and know Our Loving Father Jehovah! I remember times  when the weather would be so bad but Art & Betty would not cancel! And for His Love for Jehovah! Me and All my Family have come to Love Jehovah with All our Heart and soul! We will Never forget Art Johnson and the Love he Gave to me and my Family.

I was in the door to door ministry with Art many times, one time he said it would give him great pleasure to one day to recommend me to be an Elder.  I moved and did become an elder.  Art called me and expressed his delight,  and in the New system I will express my delight when I see him again .    Jehovah be with Betty and the family   Love Lanny and Janice Vaught

There were several times my parents and I would meet Art and Betty up at Terryal Lake in the Colorado Mountains. They were always hospitable inviting us to play cards after a day of fishing. 
They invited many of the friends over to their home in Lakewood for dinner and cards.

When they first started coming to the Athmar Congregation 
they would have me babysit their three children when they went out for get together with friends. 

They were a fun couple and a happy family.  Having Jehovah in their lives makes a big difference in all our lives. That is one reason we all can look forward in greeting Art back in the very near future. 

I am truly sorry for your loss. May Jehovah bring you the needed comfort at this sad time.


Out of all the years I have known brother Johnson, one of the cherished  moments I was able to have, is when I arranged to have brother Forest Jefferies and brother Johnson meet together again one last time,  to be able to reminisce of all the times they worked together on many district assemblies.  Just sitting back and listening to these two dear brothers talk along with hugging each other after Art gave a prayer , brought tears to my eyes and a memory that will last in my heart forever.  As these two faithful brothers now rest from all their hard work for Jehovah and the friends, I look to the time when Jehovah will awaken them from their sleep to be united again with all of us in God's new world of peace! I met Art in 94 when I was studying with the Burks. When I start attending meetings,  I would always bring a cup with me to take my medicine. I started sitting in the overflow room because of illness. He started calling me the "coffee lady". Everytime he passed by the glass ; he would put up his hand like he was drinking a cup of coffee.  He touched my heart by his loving gesture.  He will be missed but I know he's in Jehovah's memory.   Rose P.

I remember when I was younger we went and seen Uncle Art roller Skate.  He was really good. 
I think he worked at the roller Rink.
I was living Grand Mother Johnson in Springfield Oregon.
That was many years ago.

I have many fond memories of Uncle Art but one of my favorites was going to his house and swimming in the pool with his kids (my cousins).   Also Uncle Art was a tall stature of a man, and I was always in awe of his height.  He had a dauschund name Susie and he would carry her around like a football.  Uncle Art was the kindest soul in the world.  He will be sorely missed!!  My condolences to all of you.  Rest In Peace Uncle Art♡
