Art was born in Safford, Arizona on August 18, 1932 to Delbert and Bertha (Anderson) Johnson. He was the youngest of the 8 children. He worked in the construction trade his entire life and was a successful business owner.
Art was a devoted husband and a tender caring father. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years Betty Jean (Haltom), a son Steve, two daughters Kathy (Ortega) and Terri (Mikita). He deeply treasured his ten grandchildren; Jessica, Derek, Abigail, Tyler, Chelsea, Jeremy, Seth, Tara, Cassandra and Rachael, 19 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and various family members.
Art was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on September 17, 1955. The ministry was an important part of Art’s life and he always made himself available to serve in whatever assignment he received. The congregation became an extension to his family and he loved caring and serving his brothers and sisters.
Art enjoyed fellowship with his fellow believers as well as dancing, card playing, camping, fishing, and sitting around a campfire with his family.
Art will be deeply missed by all. Since we can’t get together to celebrate his life, please sign in, and if you have an experience or memory of Art, the family would love to read it.
