Precious Memories
In the heat of the summer, on June 8,1940 in Fort Worth, Texas was the glad news heralded. Willie Scott and Annie Smith Scott announced the birth of their first born a little baby girl. They chose the name Wilma Jean Scott.
Wilma grew up in the small community of Crawford addition for a few years before moving to Lake Como in 1950. She attended Our Mother of Mercy Catholic school in her early years, Cooper Street elementary and finally Como elementary. She graduated from Como high school in 1959. She played in the band, basketball, volleyball and track. She also attended Harris hospital school of vocational nursing and graduated in 1960.
In 1960 she married her high school sweetheart Earl Horacial Gratts, Sr. who preceded her in death to this union two children were born Bridgette and Earl.
Later she had another child Dwaine. She met the “spice of her life” Ennis Leroy (Dan) Daniels in 1985 and were married in 1988 and became as one and remained a loving and inseparable couple until his demise on May 30, 1997.
Wilma was also a Teacher assistant for FWISD for 14 years and represented the Teacher Assistant for Fort Worth across the States. She was also a Adopt-A-School coordinator at Eastland Elementary for 5 years.
Wilma was summoned by the Angel of the Lord to lead her through the valley and shadows of death to await the coming of the Lord on January 16, 2022. She will be forever remembered and missed by her family since she has take a flight to a distant land.
Her mother and father preceded her in death as well as her step father. Two sisters Alma Scott Richardson and Christa Scott Bethel and her son Earl Gratts, Jr all of Fort Worth also preceded in death.
Left with precious memories one daughter Bridgette Gratts Washington, son Dwaine Gratts, one brother Timothy Scott Harris, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. A host of other relatives and friends. Special friends who are there for Wilma; Oleatha Mitchell, Bobbie Carroll and Jo Warner Christian.
