Memorial services will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Village Creek Church of Christ, 2570 NW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76012, with Eli Schnell officiating.
Bill was born on September 23, 1937 in Brinson, Georgia to James Hardy and Jennie Rebecca Dukes. He graduated at the age of 17 and went on to enlist in the United States Coast Guard, where he served for 22 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Bill was proud to have served as a preacher in the Church of Christ for 3-4 years. Over the course of his working career, he worked and retired from Alberton’s and owned his own lawn service for over 15 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his 5 brothers and sister, first wife, Margaret Joann Dukes, daughters, Shelly Rebecca Dukes, and Cami Diane Ortega.
Bill is survived by his wife, Iris Dukes, son, Christopher Dukes, 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was a strong, faithful, giving man who lived a remarkable life and will be missed by all those who had the opportunity to know him.
