FORT WORTH -- Wayne Leon Bradshaw Sr. passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at home with his family by his side. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 7120 W. Cleburne Road, Fort Worth, conducted by the Rev. Randy Hardisty. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Serving as his pallbearers will be his nephews, J.B. Bradshaw, Douglas Bradshaw, Mike Shields, Gregg Davis and Kenneth Briggs, and longtime family friend, David Smith. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the church. Wayne was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Cleburne to Green Washington Bradshaw and Vivian Day Bradshaw. He moved to Fort Worth in 1942 where he met his wife of 72 years, Dixie Henslee. He enlisted in a Texas volunteer unit and served in the European theater in World War II in the 557th Heavy Tank Ordnance Co. Wayne was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of the Hemphill Heights Lodge for over 50 years. He retired in 1987 from the Texas Highway Dept. where he was supervisor in the Heavy Equipment Department. Since 1960 he had been an active member of Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he has served as elder and trustee. Wayne was a part of a large loving family and was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and five nephews. Survivors: His devoted wife, Dixie; son, Wayne Jr. and wife, Kay; daughter, Sandra and husband, Robert Wortham; grandsons, Trey Bradshaw (Sarah), Michael Crockett (Stephanie), Cameron Crockett (Crystal) and Kyle Crockett; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Huxley Crockett; sister, Imogene Cox of Cleburne; and nieces and nephews.
