She was born in Lufkin, TX on July 7, 1943. She grew up in Waco, TX and graduated from Waco High School and attended the University of Texas and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
Wanda was married to Pat Rambo, Jr. on August 12, 2000 in Fort Worth, TX where they spent the remainder of his life together in retirement.
She loved spending time with her family and especially her precious dachshund Clara. Wanda had a passion for traveling with yearly summer vacations and snow skiing in the winter. She was able to visit all 50 states, Europe, Spain and Italy throughout her lifetime.
Wanda’s greatest passion was singing. She had a successful country music career as a child with appearances on the Lawrence Welk Show, the Louisiana Hayride and the Grand Ole Opry. She sang with Clyde Chesser, George Jones, Ernest Tubb and Tommy Sands and even headlined over Elvis Presley on the Louisiana Hayride in early 1954 before his first hit “That’s All Right”.
In later years after becoming a born-again Christian she resumed singing gospel music in her loved Oak Cliff Assembly of God choir. She always recounted her first emotional solo “Jesus is My Best Friend” because her voice was now being used for the Glory of God. She performed multiple solos in Christmas Cantatas and Easter Programs, and eventually released two gospel albums “Joy” and “Prepare The Way.” She did hundreds of singing engagements in churches and international mission trips. She performed on Sunday Night Live, CBN and was featured on the 700 Club.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Rambo, Jr.; her father, Charles Gann and her mother, Lorene Levy.
She was survived by her three children Todd Kirkham, Angie Kirkham Starr, Kim Landrum Bryce; son-in-law, Wally Bryce and daughter-in-law, Allison Scott Kirkham as well as Pat Rambo III and Kelly Rambo Persons.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Justin Kirkham, Bradley Kirkham, Cole Richter, Tyler Starr, Tanner Starr, Crystal Bryce Rubel, and Hilton Bryce.
She is also survived by her brother, James Gann and her sister, Belinda Gann Gill.
