Walter (Buddy) Daniel Souther entered this world February 25, 1933, in Dalton, Georgia to Thomas Souther and Annie Green. He left us on September 24, 2022. He spent his childhood on the family farm. For his early adulthood he served his country in the U.S. Army, which included multiple tours to the Korea and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 20 years as a Master Sergeant. Upon retiring from the Army, he put roots down in Fort Worth Texas. He met and married Linda McClure and had four wonderful children: Sandy, Daniel, Samuel, and Joseph. He fought with Alzheimer’s in his later years.
To fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association, some of the family has participated in the Alzheimer’s walk annually, and will continue to do so, under the team name “Walk For Walter”. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Irene, Louise, Lamar, Frank (Shorty) and Hailey. He leaves behind his wife, Linda, children Sandy, Daniel, Samuel, and Joseph, one sister, Nadine Baker, his grandchildren, April, Ashley, Taylor, Brittany, Bethany, Thomas, Jeffrey, and several great grandchildren.
