Goodnight, Mama...I say that with a heavy heart and a hollow ache in my chest. I must admit...I've never been good at processing death. I saw too much too early. It started with finding my biological mother murdered when I was 5 years old. Its been downhill ever since. One loved one after another...singles...then in bunches. I spent SO much time in our local funeral home as a child, I dam near felt like donning a pair of white gloves MYSELF & asking grieving patrons, "If there's anything I can do for the family, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to serve you." 🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ Seriously though, after losing my mother, I was angry at The Most High for a LONG time. I couldn't figure out WHY I had to grow up without either parent...passed from place to place...inside a house, but far from feeling at HOME. Then He Gave me YOU, Mama. Everything I was denied by the loss of my mother, I was given in ample portion with you...'The Godmother of Class'.  ☺ You named yourself this jokingly, but it was evident to all that knew you. From Day 1, you treated me like a SON rather than just a suitor for your daughter's hand. You often sided with ME over your own flesh & blood because you believed I was RIGHT in whatever dispute we may have been having & I loved you SO much for that. I never understood the societal 'disdain' for mother in laws because I never had a bad one! You had SO much to do with us surviving our early married years when we had NO IDEA what we were doing and I didn't know what it meant to be a REAL 'husband'. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Your timeless advice & encouragement will never be forgotten. I will miss talking to you & hearing your laugh. Next trip to Saltgrass, I'm having a 'Pat's Ribeye' in your honor. ☺ I already miss hearing that effervescent, "Hey Chile! How you doing?". 🤗 Yes...its not gonna be easy. I've loved you for a long time, Lady...but The Father Wanted you to come Home. HIS Will be Done! So goodnight, Mama...I'll see you in the morning. 🙏🏾❤😔

It was such a pleasure to work with Sis Washington on the Women’s Conference at church she would always say something funny and we would crack up laughing. 
Such a sweet person 

Mrs. Washington was my second grade teacher at Carroll Peak. Mrs. Washington exemplified the model teacher she was caring , stood for excellence and made sure I was on the right path for greatness. If I had to say who was one of my favorite teacher and the best she definitely was that I loved her and I knew she loved me. 

Our condolences are with the Washington and Dozier Family. Cherish the memories.
