It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Travis Richard Blair who left us on January 24, 2025, at the age of 83 years. Travis was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born on November 18, 1941, in San Angelo, Texas, Travis was the child of Richard Travis and Ima Faye Gregory Blair. Travis enjoyed spending time with the family; watching them grow and reveling in their successes in life. Throughout his life, Travis was known for his ethical business practices as owner of Alpha Mechanical Contractors, Inc, his work in Local, State and National laws to ensure better public health, he was a hunter, fisherman, and avid golfer. The University of Texas Longhorns being his favorite team. He loved traveling, especially "Jeeping" with his wife Gloria. Travis was a retired member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union #146, Fort Worth, TX; Past President of PHCCA of TX, Regional Director of PHCC National Association, member of MCA of TX, and member of Texas Construction Association.
Travis is survived with deep sorrow by his wife of 63 years, Gloria Smith Blair, daughters Kellee M. Blair, Tracy K. Blair-Russell and husband Christopher Russell, grandson, Brady Howard, granddaughter, Darci Davis and husband David Davis, great-grand daughter, Keira Russell, grandson, Kaiden Russell, sister Glenda Sellars, brother Gordon Cunningham, and friends. Travis and Gloria were twenty-seven-year residents of the White Bluff Resort community, Whitney, TX, and longtime members of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, TX.
Travis was preceded in death by his father, Richard Travis Blair, mother, Ima Faye Gregory Cunningham, sister, LaQuilla Nell Hill, and brother, Bob Blair.
The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of Travis Richard Blair’s Life on February 5th, 2025, at 2PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home’s Chapel of Chimes. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2PM. Graveside service is to follow at Benbrook Cemetery.
A special thank you to all medical professionals on the Carnival Cruise Dream Ship, Hospital Costamed Cozumel, and Ascension Providence of Waco for their outstanding care. The family would also like to include thanks to FR. Timothy Vaverek of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church of West Texas for delivering Travis Blair’s Last Rites; and a final thank you to Deacon Steve Holston of St. Peter of the Apostle Catholic Church of White Settlement for officiating the service.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
