FORT WORTH -- Thelma "Sissy" Erwin Armstrong, 97, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Thelma was born June 23, 1917, in Denison to Jess and Ollie Collins Erwin. She became a member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church in 1947 where she was a Sunday school teacher. Thelma retired from Vought Aircraft. She volunteered at Lighthouse for the Blind, was an avid quilter, a wonderful cook and a tenacious Scrabble opponent.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Johnny, Dick, Fred, Glen and James Erwin; sisters, Maurine Brown and Fran Bermes; husbands, E.B. Jennings and James B. Armstrong; son, K. Don Jennings; and granddaughter, Cindy Jennings.
Survivors: Children, Sue Jennings and partner, Cindi Love, and Stephen Scott Jennings and wife, Linda Walker Jennings; grandchildren, Lauri Horton, Danny Jennings, Jerry Jennings, Joshua Love and Hannah Love; sisters, Florine Banspach and Nita Daniels; brother, J.P. Erwin; and a host of other family members.
