in Tennessee Colony in Anderson County Texas where she grew up with 3 brothers and a sister.
She started her formal education in the Massey Lake School District, graduating from Sanford High School in Itasca, Texas where she met Larry B. Harris. They formed a union of holy matrimony on July 30th 1955 and remained married 66 years. They were blessed with 3 children.
Shirley was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was also a devoted and faithful member of The Church of the Living God P.G.T. She served as an usher and a member of the board until her health declined. Shirley was a kind and caring person, mother, grandmother and friend, befriending all who crossed her path on her journey in life. She enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time with her family and friends. She spent most days reading her bible, watching westerns, piecing together puzzles and solving crossword puzzles.
On November 14th 2021 our Heavenly Father called for Shirley to come home, freeing her of earthly labours and entering into his rest. She is now in the arms of our Lord and saviour.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Matthew, Joe Willie, and James McClellan and sister Mary Lue Edward. Those who left to cherish her precious memories are devoted husband and father Larry B Harris, sons Reginald (Dee) Harris , Dale R Harris and daughter Rhonda Harris Hill, grandchildren Bianco(Melissa)Harris, Bryant C. Berry, Brandon T.Harris, John(Uchechi)Harris, Ashley Howard and Stephanie(Stacy) Young. Seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren and many close friends.
