Sharon Lynn Kraft was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 18, 1937. She was the youngest of three children to Bill & Shirley Warner. Sharon spent her childhood in Wichita along side her sisters Vera and Shirley.
Sharon started her retail career at just 17 years old at the local Duckwalls Department Store, where she met and fell in love with her to-be husband Leonard Kraft. They married about a year later and moved to Pueblo, Colorado. They had their first child David shortly after in 1957.
In the early days of their family, they lived in several parts of Colorado before moving and settling in Great Bend, Kansas to raise their family upon the birth of their second child Becky in 1962.
Sharon continued her retail career managing a Payless Shoe Store in Great Bend for many years until 1980 when she and Leonard relocated to Fort Worth, Texas for Leonard’s job. Sharon then went on the road with Leonard all across the US where she learned she loved to travel, especially the award trips with Radio Shack to Hawaii and all across Europe.
In 1992 Sharon started working for The Container Store where she was adopted into her TCS family. She spent over 25 years and built significant friendships, many of which she cherished until the day she passed.
In her later years she took a new job as a full time Granny Nanny, caring for her first great-grandson Landry for the first year of his life, and then later Landry’s younger sister Avery for the first two years of her life. This was by far, her most rewarding job of all.
Sharon was a bright light in this world with a big personality and an even bigger laugh. She loved the beach, margarita nights with the girls, wahoo with the family, and was a huge hometown fan cheering on the Cowboys and the Rangers.
Sharon passed away on Monday, April 19th. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley, and her husband Leonard of 50 years.
Throughout her whole life, Sharon’s proudest achievement was her close-knit family. She is survived by son, David Kraft and wife, Catherine; daughter, Becky Wright and husband, Wes; granddaughter, Whitney Trammell and husband, Casey; grandson, Weston Wright; and great-grandchildren, Landry and Avery Trammell. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Siemens and many nieces and nephews.
