July 12, 1915 - April 10, 2013
Ruth Irene McCabe passed away peacefully in her sleep, April 10, 2013, in North Richland Hills TX at the age of 97. Ruth was born in Coulee ND, and was the third child adopted by Ida Mae and Stephen Hodgson a short time later. Ruth grew up in Kenmare ND.
She married Charles F. Brown on July 10, 1938. They had five children. They lived near Maxbass ND until May 1961 when they moved to WA. She was predeceased by Charles 30 years ago (1983) after 45 years of marriage.

Ruth believed that idle hands were a sin. She kept her hands busy doing needlework. It was not uncommon for her to perform her craft for 12 or more hours a day, crocheting doilies, afghans, baby blankets and baby sweaters. She preferred doilies most of all. She continued her craft up until 6 months before she went to her Lord.
Ruth is remembered by her sons Charles S. Brown (Jill) and James E. Brown (Gloria) and her daughters Vera Mae Nickel (Jerry) and Lyla Irene Brown Martin (Stan). She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, Dale, Mark, Sandra, Nancy, Timothy, Robert, James, Joshua, Michelle, Julie, Stephen, Troy and Monica, as well as 29 great grandchildren.
