Ruth was born in Hartford CT on December 14, 1922, daughter of the late James E. and Anna (Hollinger) Flynn. Ruth was preceded in death by her identical Twin Sister, May McNamara and brother James E Flynn, Jr. In her early life she joined Aetna, Hartford, CT as secretary in 1941. Ruth received many promotions over the years and retired as an Administrative Executive in Dallas, Texas. Ruth retired from Aetna in 1993 at the age of 70.
Ruth enjoyed reading, knitting, the company of her family and most of all tutoring grandchildren & playing with her great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Houston, Texas and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Keller, Texas. Ruth spent many years volunteering in the office at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Keller, TX public library.
Ruth leaves her children, Larry Marshall and Kathy Brewer; daughter-in-law, Paula Marshall; grandchildren Andrea Davis, Caleb Brewer, Lee Marshall and wife, Nichole, Wesley Marshall and Meredithe Marshall; great-grandchildren Zane Davis, Carson Davis and Landon Davis.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Friday October 16 at 2:00 pm. Ruth will be laid rest at St. Patrick Cemetery, 1558 King St, Enfield, CT, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Catholic Charities.
