Visitation will be on April 10, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel at 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76148.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on April 11, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Keller, TX with the Pastor, Rev. Tom Chryst of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church beginning at 1:15 pm. Burial will follow at the Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, TX located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034. Arrangements are by Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
Ron Zuar was born in Willimantic, CT to Henry & Marjorie Zuar on April 11, 1947. He graduated from Windham High School in 1965. Ron served in the US Air Force from 1968 for more than 30 years. He completed basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX. He spent time at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX, before being transferred to Webb AFB in Big Spring, TX. Ron met his wife, Donna, in Big Spring and married on February 1, 1969. They spent 55 loving years together. Ron worked for the Texas Air National Guard. Also, Ron served in Operation Desert Shield/Operation Desert Storm from 1990 to 1991. During Ron’s civilian career he worked for the government for such companies as DCAS and GSA. Ron was awarded several honors throughout his military and civilian careers. Ron received Airman of the month and Airman of the Quarter in 1969. He was promoted to Master Sergeant/First Sergeant upon his return from Desert Storm. Also, Ron enjoyed wood working, gardening, his Ford Mustang, and most of all his family.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents: Henry Zuar and Marjorie Zuar.
Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years - Donna Zuar, his brother – Robert “Bob” Zuar; son – Joseph Zuar and wife, April Zuar; daughter – Denise Almond and husband, Donovan Almond; / Grandchildren: Joshua Zuar; Nathan Zuar; Emma Zuar; Megan Gage; Brianna Almond; Hope Almond, and Hannah Almond / Great grandchildren: Brynli Gage
Pallbearers will be Joshua Zuar, Nathan Zuar; Austin Gage; Donovan Almond; John Davidson, & Ocean Davidson.
