Rodney Andre Martin

One is not gone…who touched the lives of others in such a warm and caring way.

One is not lost…who warmed the lives of all around with freely given friendship.

One is not forgotten…who found the way to others hearts and mapped a route to love.

So was the life of Rodney Andre Martin who was born on March 30, 1968 in Quincy, Florida to Lynda Jackson and Leon Martin. Rodney is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jim & Luvada Jackson, paternal grandparents Robert & Luethel Martin.

He obtained his early education in the Gadson County public school system, in Quincy, FL . He graduated from James S. Rickards High School Class of 1986, in Tallahassee, FL. He attended Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL.

Rodney’s professional career started as a Unit Treatment Rehabilitative Specialist at Florida State Hospital, Chattahoochee, FL from 1990 to1994. He later moved to Fort worth, Texas in October 1994, to start his career with the Federal Government. As a Senior Officer Specialist, Rodney rendered 10 years of loyal, dedicated service to the Federal Bureau of Prisons before a medical retirement.

Rodney enjoyed all sports, especially college and professional football. His favorite teams were the Miami Hurricanes and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed fishing with his son, watching him play football and running track. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends, and playing jokes on them.

At an early age Rodney received Christ while attending First Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Quincy, FL. He later joined Meadowridge Community Baptist Church in 2011, where he was a faithful servant of God until the Lord called him home on December 23, 2017.

On September 25, 1994, Rodney married the love of his life , Kneyse Scott to their union a son was born, Isador Ja’von Martin.
