Robert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Martha Rae Coomer Reynolds and daughter, Kimberly and husband Joseph McCarthy of Fort Worth. Robert will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Erin Rae McCarthy of Fort Worth and Samuel Morgan Hill, his wife Brittany, their three children, Ciara, Annabell and Logan, all of Fort Worth, by cousins, extended family members, past co-workers, friends and neighbors. Robert was predeceased by his mother Eula Beatrice Brumlow Reynolds, father Joe E. Reynolds, an uncle and aunt.
A native of Texas, Robert attended Reno Elementary School, growing up in Azle and later attended and graduated from Azle High School in 1956. Robert’s dedication to national patriotism, prompted his joining the Texas National Guard Army Reserves at an early age and serving for 12 years, one weekend every month. Never brushing aside his career goals in Business Administration studies, Robert attended Texas Wesleyan University of Fort Worth, graduating with a B.S. degree in Accounting in the year of 1960. Furthering studies were completed at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, earning his Master’s degree in Accounting. Robert’s continued support of TCU activities lasted throughout his life, as TCU Frog Club Member, season ticket holder for Baseball, Basketball and Football. Robert was a tried, true and purple TCU alumni.
Robert’s first job, while still in High School was with Montgomery Wards as a mail order filler/clerk, on roller skates in the 7TH Street building. After graduation from Texas Wesleyan University, Robert worked his way through the ranks to Senior Vice President of Finance for Texas Steel working the final 21 years of its existence. Life after Texas Steel found Robert working a 7 year stint at a local law firm as a financial officer. Finally Robert found a home with Carter & Burgess (eventually Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.) till his retirement in 2006 as Senior Vice President of Finance. Robert’s retirement was not enough to satisfy his drive to work, recruited by HUB International, after Jacobs, he worked part-time till his passing.
Robert’s business career fostered participation in numerous organizations in finance, business, and personal development. Serving on boards, committees, Custodian of the Dorothy Gaines Foundation, and founder of the Fort Worth branch of FEI organizers. So, prosperous was his presence in the work-a-day world, Robert established his own business known as Ledgeview Consulting, LLC.
A Celebration of Robert’s life was held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Laurel Land Funeral Home, in Fort Worth, with Alma Thompson officiating.
