Bob graduated from South San High School and attended the University of Texas majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Bob worked for two years as a surveyor and draftsman in San Antonio preparing him for his successful career in engineering. This is also where he met his wife, Jean, where she worked in the blueprint room. He was married to Jean on October 2nd 1964, at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church.
Bob had a fulfilling engineering career for 40 years at Lockheed Martin, formerly General Dynamics, where he was a Senior Design Engineer. His assignments included cockpit layouts for the F-16 fighter jet instrument panels, center pedestals and all support structure for the instrument panels.
Bob was a member and Elder of Lifeline Church (formerly St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church), and had a passion to serve others. God was glorified by the many years of love, care, and support from his church family. He enjoyed listening online to church services when he was no longer able to attend.
Bob was an avid bird lover, raising and caring for many Cockatiels during his adult years. Bob and Jean often enjoyed driving through the Texas hill country, while traveling to see his San Antonio family. Bob’s scenic photos provided inspiration for Jean’s beautiful paintings. He appreciated classical music and more recently enjoyed gospel music by Alan Jackson, with his favorite song “The Old Rugged Cross.”
