Randy Delano Sutton was born October 11, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the youngest of five children born to Roosevelt Franklin Sutton and Berder Lee Sutton.
Randy completed elementary school at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic School in Fort Worth, TX. From there, he graduated from O.D. Wyatt “THE BIG BAD O.D.!”
In 1977 he entered into the Air Force. He served his country in Desert Storm, and he retired in 2005 as a Master Sargent in the Air National Guard. Going to the base for Randy was like going to a park for a kid.
When he entered the Air Force in 1977, he met Sheila Robinson, “The girl who had EVERYTHING he wanted in a wife,” his dream girl. Within three months, he proposed, and at six months, they were married. They showed their love for each other throughout their marriage in the most exceptional way. Their four children watched them through thick, thin, and adversity love one another. They were role models for the vows they pledged before God.
Randy is a man of God who had no problem telling anyone he met about the Word of God. His family often joked that he was known as either a man of a few words or a man who will hold you hostage, by conversation.
He was an ordained preacher, an Associate Minister at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Odessa. He also ministered at Orchard Park.
Randy leaves behind a wife Sheila Sutton; son Eric DeWayne Sutton; daughters Katrina Michelle Sutton and Ashley Renee’ Sutton; grand-daughter Brooklynn Nicole Davis; grandson Brailon Fitzgerald Davis; sisters Virginia Kay McCarty, husband Larry McCarty and Theresa Gale Davis, husband Horace Davis; brother Alfonso Neal Sutton, wife Tiffany Sutton and sister-in-law Veronica Sutton (Roosevelt Franklin Sutton).
Randy was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Shannan Nicole Sutton, parents Roosevelt Franklin Sr. and Berder Lee Sutton, and brother Roosevelt Franklin Sutton Jr.
