Phil Norton, age 69, died at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital on November 12, 2018 after a battle with cancer. He was born on August 5, 1949 to Lorena and Wilbur Norton in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in Texarkana, Texas. He attended high school in Texarkana. Phil attended the University of Texas at Arlington receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1972. He worked at Freese and Nichols in Fort Worth. Then Phil worked at Oncor Electric Delivery in Ft. Worth for 32 years before retiring in 2013. Phil loved his family, his four-legged friends and learning and operating home technology. Phil valued and loved his friends and they appreciated his funny and dry sense of humor.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marilyn Norton, his sons Brian and Justin, and granddaughters MacKenzie and Chloe Norton.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 16th at 10:00 am at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 Wilshire Boulevard in Joshua, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that friends and family donate to any pet rescue society.
