Peter was born April 29, 1921 in Covington, TX. In his early life he was a migrant worker, and settled in Yakima Valley, WA. He served in the Army as a Staff Sargent during WWII in the 4th armored infantry division Patton's 3rd Army, the American Campaign, and the European Campaign. Awards earned: 2 Oak Leaf Purple hearts, Bronze Star, Sharpshooter, The Presidential Unit Citation presented by F. D. R., the Good Conduct Medal, and a Victory over Europe medal recipient. He was married for 48 years to Minerva Ayala and lived in Fort Worth. Peter became a certified auto mechanic and owned his auto repair shop.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Peter is survived by his children, Jimmy R. and his wife, Natalie Velasquez, Minerva Adela and her husband, Mauro Serrano, Peter Thomas Jr. and his wife, Virginia Velasquez, Janet Marie and her husband, Ciro Uribe, Sofia Theresa and her husband, Jesse Zamarripa, Tomasita Victoria and her husband, Richard Martinez, and Arthur Carlos Sr. and his wife, Olivia Velasquez; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
